Faridpur Medical College (FMC) is a government medical school in Bangladesh, established in 1992. It is located in Faridpur town, headquarters of Faridpur District. It is affiliated with University of Dhaka as a constituent college.

It offers a five-year course of study leading to a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. A one-year internship after graduation is compulsory for all graduates. The degree is recognised by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council.

The college is associated with 500-bed Faridpur Medical College Hospital (FMCH). Faridpur Medical College Journal (FMCJ) is the official journal of FMC.

The government of Bangladesh established Faridpur Medical College in 1992 by upgrading an existing Medical Assistant Training School (MATS).

In 2011, the management of the college resolved to rename it Sheikh Hasina Medical College. In 2014, it was reported that Sheikh Hasina vetoed the name change.

Students at the college demonstrated in 2015, calling for the reinstatement of the "carry on" examination system. The Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree programme is divided into three parts by the first, second, and third professional examinations. If a student fails one of these exams, they may sit it again six months later. Under the 2002 "carry on" system, students could continue taking classes in the next academic session while preparing to retake an exam. This system was strongly favored by medical students, but strongly opposed by their teachers. The Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council eliminated "carry on" in 2013, after which students who failed a professional exam were not allowed to continue classes until they had passed it, causing them to lose up to a year in the process.

Campus

The college is located in Faridpur town, the headquarters of Faridpur District, 600 metres (2,000 ft) south of Faridpur Railway Station. The associated 500-bed FMCH lies about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) southwest, in the West Khabaspur neighborhood.

FMC has no permanent hostel for boys. It leases one from the MATS. It is a four-story building behind which a new five-story building has been built to house the increasing number of the students. Still many newcomers have to stay outside the campus in accommodation arranged by the college committee. One permanent girls hostel is situated along with the hospital compound.

There is a nursing college affiliated with the hospital. It provides training for young nurses. There are also hostels for nurses near the hospital.
