City Medical College

The College: City Medical College & Hospital is located at Etahata, Block-B, Chandna Chowrasta, Gazipur Sadar, Gazipur, Established in the year 2012 and offering the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree under the University of Dhaka.
Curriculum: Curriculum approved by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) is adopted by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Dhaka. Curriculum for Under-graduate Medical Education in Bangladesh-Updated 2012- approved by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) & is adopted by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Dhaka.
Academic Year: From January to December each year (changeable)
Affiliation: This college is approved by the Ministry of Health and Family welfare and affiliated with the University of Dhaka. Degree is awarded under the University of Dhaka.
Hospital: About 300 bedded Hospital is fully equipped with departments of Medicine, surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Cardiology with CCU, Ophthalmology (Eye), Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), Dental Unit, Anesthesiology, Radiology & Imaging, Pathology, Skin & VD, Paediatrics with Neonatology, Physiotherapy, Outpatient Department and Emergency Department.
Student’s Welfare Committee: To look after welfare of the students, this committee has been working. This committee comprising of teachers and students organizes annual games and sports including cultural activities.
Student’s Advisory Council: The members of this council have been entrusted to advice on the student’s individual/academic/extra academic problems. Any student may approach to this council for advice. Mainly this council guides the students regarding their academic studies and the matters relating to professional courses. This committee consists of teachers of this college.
Annual Sports and Cultural week: The annual sports and cultural week is observed at the end of every year in the college. The competitions are generally conducted in the college premises and finally the prize giving ceremony is arranged in a suitable auditorium in the city where usually the high dignitaries, elites, intellectuals attend. The brilliant students for their merit or outstanding performance are honoured by awarding medals/crests/certificates in a formal ceremony as recognition of their achievements.
Canteen Facilities: A well furnished canteen will be start as soon as possible. Various food stuffs and beverage facilities will be available in the canteen on payment. Lunch will also be available there.
Library: The college has rich modern well equipped air-conditioned library facilities with Wi-Fi internet access. Library hours start from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM on all working days.
Status of Various Departments: All the departments of the college are well-equipped and the teaching staffs are well experienced, potential and highly qualified. The teachers believe in quality education and they endeavour to maintain the standard of education.
Computer Lab: The college has a rich modern well-equipped air conditioned computer lab with 15 Computers. Flat monitors & high speed Wi-Fi internet service.
